Eagles offer for Brandin Cooks included Malcolm Jenkins, picks
The Philadelphia Eagles offered the New Orleans Saints a package of defensive back Malcolm Jenkins, a third-round pick and a fourth-round pick in exchange for wide receiver Brandin Cooks, reports Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
The Saints apparently wanted a second-round pick and Jenkins, but it's notable that Philadelphia was still in pursuit of Cooks following the signing of Alshon Jeffery. Jenkins has emerged as one of the top safeties in the league, excelling both in coverage and against the run.
Among the 41 receivers with at least 100 targets in 2016, Cooks tied for the second-most Reception Net Expected Points per target with 0.84.
