Josh Chapman

Colts still unsure who will start at nose tackle

Going into the third game of the preseason, the nose tackle spot of the Indianapolis Colts' defense is still unsettled.

What It Means:

Josh Chapman is the incumbent at the position, but second-year player Zach Kerr and rookie David Parry still have a wide open chance to unseat him. Head coach Chuck Pagano said, “There’s a lot of competition out there. We’re going through this preseason and evaluating everybody.’’

It's not great news for the Colts' defense that no one has stepped up to seize the job by this point. They ranked 16th in schedule-adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP in 2014, but a hole in the middle of the defensive line is the last thing they need. A rotation at this position is highly likely for the team, meaning none of these players are fantasy-relevant in IDP leagues.
