Jets' Jace Amaro to have shoulder surgery and miss entire 2015 season

New York Jets tight end Jace Amaro will have season-ending shoulder surgery and be placed on injured reserve, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.

What It Means:

Amaro hadn't yet seen the field in the preseason because of an injury. Amaro was a second-round pick in 2014, but he only saw four starts during his rookie campaign.

Over 53 targets, Amaro had a Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target of 0.53. Though that was far from great, it was better than current starter Jeff Cumberland, who was at 0.41. New addition Kellen Davis had zero receptions on three targets with the New York Giants. Our projections see Cumberland notching 37 receptions for 399 yards and 2 touchdowns.
