Chris Matthews (shoulder) returns to Seahawks practice
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Chris Matthews (shoulder) returned to practice Tuesday after a three-week absence.
Matthews is currently slotted as the number three wide receiver on the Seahawks depth chart, but rookie Tyler Lockett has impressed during Matthews' absence. Matthews is expected to play in the preseason finale on Thursday against the Oakland Raiders.
The Seahawks ranked 15th in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points metric last season. Matthews had a breakout performance in the Super Bowl against the Patriots recording 109 receiving yards on 4 receptions with a touchdown. Our algorithms project Matthews to finish the season with 24 catches, 311 yards, and 2 touchdowns.
