Saints secondary depleted with Jairus Byrd, Keenan Lewis out

New Orleans Saints defensive backs Jairus Byrd and Keenan Lewis will remain out this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

What It Means:

Safety Rafael Bush also went on Injured Reserve this week. This is a huge boon to erratic rookie quarterback Jameis Winston, who had an ugly debut against the Tennessee Titans last Sunday. With some of the best playmakers in the Saints' secondary sidelined, Winston and his receivers will have a much better chance at moving the ball this week.

Our algorithms still project Winston as the 23rd-best quarterback this week in fantasy football, with 210 yards passing, 1 touchdown, and 3 rushes for 12 yards. He does have some upside if he's your best option, though, against a much-depleted Saints defensive backfield. This news should make Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson owners happy as well; they're projected as our WR10 and WR30 for Week 2.
