Dolphins release Byron Maxwell
The Miami Dolphins have cut cornerback Byron Maxwell according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Maxwell was the Dolphins' best cornerback in 2016, but he has been inactive since Week 3 because of a hamstring injury and conflicts with the coaching staff. Schefter reports that Maxwell should have a market for his services, but for now the Dolphins will roll with Xavien Howard and Cordrea Tankersley at corner.
Through Week 7, the Dolphins' defense ranks 22nd with 31.31 Passing Defense Net Expected Points.
