Nate Allen (calf) lands on Dolphins' injured reserve
The Miami Dolphins placed defensive back Nate Allen on injured reserve with a calf injury.
Allen suffered the injury in the Dolphins' 40-0 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football in Week 8. T.J. McDonald will return from suspension in Week 10, but Michael Thomas is expected to start opposite Reshad Jones in Week 9 versus the Oakland Raiders on Sunday night.
Allen recorded 20 tackles (15 solo) with 1 pass deflection in seven games this season. As a unit, the Dolphins' secondary ranks 22nd in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points allowed per play.
