Casey Hayward (calf, personal) expected to play for Chargers versus Browns
Los Angeles Chargers defensive Casey Hayward (calf, personal) will play in Week 13 against the Cleveland Browns, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
What It Means:
Hayward missed practice all week while mourning the unexpected loss of his brother but it sounds like he will still play this afternoon. It's a significant upgrade for the Chargers' secondary, as Hayward is Pro Football Focus' top corner out of 119 qualifiers this season. The 2012 second-round pick is expected to shadow Josh Gordon in what will be the receiver's first meaningful NFL game in almost three years.
