Rams' Greg Zuerlein (back) lands on Injured Reserve

Los Angeles Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein (back) has been placed on Injured Reserve, ending his season.

What It Means:

Zuerlein underwent surgery on his back Thursday to repair a herniated disc, knocking out the NFL's current scoring leader out for the rest of the 2017 season. The Rams signed former Penn State kicker Sam Ficken to replace Zuerlein on their roster.

Zuerlein finishes the 2017 season 38-for-40 on field goals and 44-for-46 on extra points for a league-leading 158 points, 21 more than second-place Stephen Gostkowski.
