Colts allowing Rashaan Melvin to test free agency

According to IndyStar's Stephen Holder, Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard said that they'd let impending free agent cornerback Rashaan Melvin to test the free agent market.

What It Means:

Ballard said that they're going to let the situation play out and see what the market dictates. They're not going to be signing him anytime soon, contrary to earlier reports this offseason. Melvin could command decent money after a breakout season.

In 10 games (all starts), Melvin tallied 30 tackles, 16 passes defensed and 3 picks. He rated out as Pro Football Focus' 17th-ranked corner.
