Trent Murphy, Bills reportedly agree on 3-year, $21 million contract

The Buffalo Bills signed defensive end Trent Murphy, formerly of the Washington Redskins, to a 3-year, $21 million contract.

What It Means:

Murphy missed all of last season due to two torn knee ligaments and a four-game PED ban, but he set career-highs in tackles and sacks for Washington the year before. The 27-year-old former second-round pick will likely compete with Shaq Lawson for a starting job opposite Jerry Hughes.

Murphy recorded 44 tackles (35 solo) with 9 sacks, 1 pass deflection, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovered in 2016.
