Cowboys surprisingly cut kicker Dan Bailey
The Dallas Cowboys have released veteran kicker Dan Bailey, saving them $3.4M on the 2018 salary cap.
In a stunning cost-saving move, Dallas has released the second-most accurate kicker in NFL history. Bailey owns an 88.2% field goal accuracy while making 186 kicks, the most in Cowboys' history. Dallas will go with 28-year-old and Canadian Football League veteran kicker Brett Maher. He has never attempted a kick in an NFL regular season game.
Bailey finished 2017 15-of-20 on field goals and 26-of-28 on extra points in 12 games for Dallas.
