NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 11/5/19
A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?
It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.
Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.
Goalie to Target
Connor Hellebuyck ($7,800): The New Jersey Devils are one wild team to face, but Hellebuyck is in a good spot here. He stonewalled the San Jose Sharks over the weekend with an insane 51-save effort that helped take down some GPPs. His price is low only because New Jersey is so volatile. This is a goalie who faces 34 shots per 60 for Winnipeg, and it is not like the Jets' defense will improve overnight. There are some other good choices, too, on Tuesday night if one wants to roll the dice. Jacob Markstrom ($8,000) from Vancouver is one, and Carter Hart ($7,500) might be the biggest gamble of the night.
High-Priced Skaters
Mark Scheifele ($7,500): Scheifele quietly puts up great numbers and often gets overlooked. The past three games have been a bit of a struggle for Scheifele, but in two of them, he managed to put up double-digit FanDuel points anyway. He has 15 real-world points on the season and faces a New Jersey team that can give up goals on the road with ease. No lead is safe with New Jersey, which provides plenty of chances for the opposition. Winnipeg can generate its own pace off the slowness of the Devils' bottom lines and pairings. Also, watch to see if John Tavares returns for the Toronto Maple Leafs. If he does, he's in play like usual.
David Pastrnak ($9,200): Pastrnak could be a chalky play if Boston played three times in three nights. That is how great this recent run has been as he has an astounding 29 real-world points in his last 12 contests. That is nearly 2.5 points per game, which is a run similar to what Nikita Kucherov had on his way to the scoring title last season. He is a sniper with play-making ability, and high shot-volume all wrapped in one. When a player averages almost five scoring chances over this long of span, we should just keeps rolling with him until the party is over. Elsewhere, Patrick Kane ($7,800) is in a great spot as San Jose has been a doormat defensively all season long.
Value Skaters
Jean-Gabriel Pageau ($3,900): Until his price rises above say $5,000, Pageau is going to provide value most nights. He proved that again on Monday against the New York Rangers as the center scored twice on three shots and added three blocks. Is he the world's best first-line player? No. Does Pageau create chances off the rush like a kid running off with your Halloween candy? Yes. Always take advantage of price inefficiencies whenever possible, and this is a big one. Also, Kirby Dach ($3,200) is an intriguing option from the Blackhawks tonight.
Nick Ritchie ($3,700): The forward has a goal and three assists in his last six starts and is still enjoying some top-six ice time at even strength. His price is low enough to toss him in as a punt play. Ritchie generates a couple scoring chances a game, and the Minnesota Wild are losing more than 80% of the time on the road in the early going. Minnesota also has trouble against speedy forwards, and Ritchie can generate off the rush. Anthony Duclair ($3,900) is another solid play, even on the back end of a back-to-back for Ottawa, on Tuesday night.
