5 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 11/5/19

Dylan Strome has a fantastic opportunity playing with two elite wingers.

If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, these players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars.

Dylan Strome, Center, Chicago Blackhawks

FanDuel Price: $4,600

Dylan Strome is expected to play on a line with Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane which are the stone cold nut wingers to have on the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks take on the 30th ranked San Jose Sharks in a matchup that is fantastic. The Sharks are allowing 3.73 goals against per game which is the fourth-most in the NHL.

Strome ranks sixth among all centers in points-per-dollar, according to our projections, which puts him in a fantastic spot. This line remains intact on the top power-play unit which gives him even more upside.

Nico Hischier, Center, New Jersey Devils

FanDuel Price: $4,700

It has been a slow start to his career, though there were signs of progress last year. Nico Hischier has points in three straight games and has been promoted to the top line to center Taylor Hall and Kyle Palmieri. This is fantastic for him to continue to gain his confidence after signing a long-term extension prior to the season.

The New Jersey Devils visit Winnipeg to take on a Jets team that is coming home from Vegas. There could be a hangover here worth taking advantage of and considering Hischier's new role and the fact that he is the seventh-ranked center in points-per-dollar, according to our projections, he's a viable play.

Timo Meier, Winger, San Jose Sharks

FanDuel Price: $5,000

On the other side of the matchup, this is a winger that took a massive step forward last season, notching 30 goals and 66 points in 78 games in his third season in the NHL. He also averaged more than three shots per game and about one-half block per game. He is a budding superstar off to a ridiculously slow start to the season. The San Jose Sharks have struggled immensely so it makes sense that Timo Meier is struggling, too.

Despite the Sharks' struggles, Meier's shooting percent is way off. With a 10 percent shooting percentage two seasons ago and a 12 percent shooting percent last season, Meier's shooting percent is down to a lowly 4.7 percent this year. Bumping that up to 20 percent would add a couple of goals to his total and while it would still be disappointing, it would be better obviously. And while the Sharks host the Blackhawks, which is far from a great matchup, the price is too cheap.

Tyson Barrie, Defense, Toronto Maple Leafs

FanDuel Price: $4,500

It has not been a very good start for Tyson Barrie's first season as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He has zero goals and just five points in 15 games. His 37 shots about on pace for his career averages, but playing over 22 minutes per game, there needs to be more from Barrie.

Tonight is a fantastic matchup against a Los Angeles Kings team that allows the most goals against per game at 4.07. While they only allow 29.7 shots against per game, their goaltending has been so bad and the Leafs should be able to take advantage considering they are 7th in goals per game averaging 3.47 per game.

Carter Hart, Goaltender, Philadelphia Flyers

FanDuel Price: $7,500

The Philadelphia Flyers allow the least amount of shots per game at just 27.9 which is fantastic. The issue is that they have still allowed an unreasonable amount of goals against based on this, 3.31 per game, which is the 12th most. Carter Hart has struggled this season putting up just a 3.23 goals-against average and a .867 save percentage, but he was so good as a rookie last season that we can hope he bounces back.

Hart ranks as the fifth-best points-per-dollar play among goaltenders, as per our projections, and he is priced as the 15th-most expensive goaltender. While he isn't projected to necessarily score many points, the Flyers are on home ice as very slight underdogs. I think the Flyers have a great chance to win this game and Hart to put up a solid performance.
