3 NHL FanDuel Studs to Target on 11/26/19

Tyler Seguin leads the streaking Dallas Stars into Chicago tonight. Who else should we target?

Spending up in any Daily Fantasy lineup is how to get the superstars and the highest upside players in your lineup. In NHL DFS, it’s different than paying up in sports like NBA or NFL. Someone can be one of the highest-priced players at his position a put up a total dud of a performance, and paying that much for him would be a huge mistake. Let’s make sure we are paying up in the right spots when building our lineups tonight.

A light three-game schedule for tonight is in the cards, but there's still some studs for us to roster. So let's take a look at who we like tonight.

Tyler Seguin, Center, Dallas Stars

FanDuel Salary: $8,100

Tyler Seguin and the Dallas Stars have turned things around massively after a terrible start to the season. They've won seven games in a row and nine of their last ten. Seguin has also had a great turnaround and has been great during this streak for Dallas. He has 12 points in the last 10 games, with 43 shots on goal. Overall, he is tenth in the NHL in shots on goal, per Natural Stat Trick.

The matchup for Dallas is good tonight. They face the Chicago Blackhawks, who continue to struggle defensively. They allow the third-most shot attempts per 60 minutes and the second-most expected goals per 60 minutes. Dallas' power play has not been good this season, but the return of John Klingberg should help in that department. Seguin looks primed to continue his solid play and is worth paying up for in any contest format tonight.

David Pastrnak, Wing, Boston Bruins

FanDuel Salary: $9,200

The Boston Bruins face their hated rival Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night. Patrice Bergeron will be missing this game, dealing with a lower-body injury. When Bergeron missed two games last week, it didn't hinder David Pastrnak at all. Pasta was able to get two points in each of those games, and also had 13 total shots on goal. He still leads the league in goals with 20 and is fourth in the league in shots on goal.

The Bruins have the highest implied team total on tonight's slate at 3.32. If you look at our NHL daily fantasy matchup heat map, you can see that the Bruins have a big advantage on the power play tonight. They are scoring at a 30% clip, while Montreal has a weak penalty kill that is only successful just over 73% of the time. Pastrnak is leading numberFire's projections for all players, so he is a top play on tonight's slate.

Shea Weber, Defense, Montreal Canadiens

FanDuel Salary: $6,500

Shea Weber has quietly been having a great fantasy season to start the year. He is seventh in shots on goal for a defenseman and third in goals, with seven. He has been especially good in his last ten games, with 5 goals, 9 points, 36 shots on goal, and 20 blocked shots.

Despite being home underdogs, the Canadiens still have the second-highest goal total on this small slate. Weber is second on the team in points with 18, and is a dangerous offensive weapon even from his defense position. He makes for a good contrarian option on tonight's slate, given how likely it is that fantasy players will try to fit in more of the expensive Boston forwards and pair them with a Bruins defenseman. His upside makes him an interesting way to spend in tournaments.
