3 Daily Fantasy NHL Stacks for Thursday 12/2/21

In daily fantasy hockey, stacking is a key strategy in tournaments. We want to correlate our lineups with up to four players to maximize our upside, as if one player on a line is scoring goals, it's likely that his linemates are getting assists as well. Ideally, we'll want players that will get a lot of ice time together on an even strength line and a power play line. Two good resources for line combinations are LeftWingLock.com and DailyFaceoff.com, so be sure to check those sites for updated line information.

This is a 10-game Thursday night with a lot of good spots on the slate. Which ones can help us take down a tournament?

Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers completed an epic comeback win on Tuesday night. They were down 4-1 going into the third period and won the game 5-4 in regulation. It's been that kind of start to the season for Florida, and they can rack up some more goals tonight.

The team continues to be without star center Aleksander Barkov, but Florida still has a solid first line. Jonathan Huberdeau ($7,600) leads the team with 23 points in 22 games. He'll play alongside Sam Bennett ($6,100) at even strength and on the power play. Carter Verhaeghe ($4,900) is also on this line and is fifth on the team in scoring, but he won't play on the same power-play unit tonight. Defenseman Aaron Ekblad ($6,600) is the second-leading scorer on the team with 20 points and makes for a great play as he will be alongside Huberdeau and Bennett on the top power play.

Florida will face the Buffalo Sabres at home. While this campaign started off as a good story for the Sabres, they are who we thought they were. They've lost six out of their last seven games and allowed five or more goals in five of those games. Now they go to Florida to face a Panthers team that is 12-1 at home.

The Panthers are massive favorites in this game and have an implied total of 3.74 goals. They can score throughout the lineup, so it's hard to say that their first line will dominate, but that line the best bet when stacking Florida.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes are going through a bit of a slump. They've lost four of their last five and have scored two or fewer goals in each of those defeats. A matchup with the Ottawa Senators, one of the league's worst teams, couldn't come at a better time.

Carolina likes to mix up their lines, and we have new units for tonight. Sebastian Aho ($8,900) is the center on the top line, with Andrei Svechnikov ($8,000) and Martin Necas ($5,200) on his wings. Aho and Svechnikov are tied for the team lead with 20 points. These three all played on the same power-play unit last game, as we saw the Hurricanes run out five forwards on the power play. The lack of options on defense when it comes to the power play makes it likely that the 'Canes will try it again.

The Sens are fresh off being played off the ice by the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. Ottawa has lost six games in a row, sitting in last place in the NHL. They've also allowed 3.95 goals per game, the most in the league.

Carolina will certainly be popular tonight. If you want to get different with your Hurricanes stacks, you could add in Vincent Trocheck ($5,500) or Teuvo Teravainen ($6,100) to get a fourth piece of a power play that could go off.

Dallas Stars

At the start of the season, it was difficult to see the Dallas Stars being contenders. They played very poorly early on and struggled to score goals. That's all changed in the last few weeks, as they now look similar to the team that went to the Stanley Cup Final in 2019-20.

Dallas' current five-game winning streak has been driven by a productive top line. Roope Hintz ($6,500) has seven goals in his last five games, including a hat trick on Tuesday. Jason Robertson ($5,700) has points in each of those five games and is now above a point per game on the season. Joe Pavelski ($5,400) is the wily old veteran of this line, and he has three consecutive games with multiple points.

The Stars are home against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Columbus got trounced 6-0 on Tuesday. That was also with Columbus' star goalie Elvis Merzlikins in net, and he and fellow netminder Joonas Korpisalo will both be unavailable tonight. Danil Tarasov is being fed to wolves for Columbus and is set to make his first NHL appearance.

This Dallas stack comes with modest salaries in a good matchup and offers full correlation. That makes it one of the best stacks on the board.

Others to Consider: Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals, Minnesota Wild
