Patrik Elias will center Devils' second line Tuesday

New Jersey Devils center Patrik Elias will center the Devils' second line in Tuesday's matchup with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

What It Means:

"We just feel like he gives us a little bit of center help," coach John Hynes said. "We've switched some guys in and out in that role, but we'll start him there and we'll see how he does, see if we can do a little bit better on faceoffs than we did last game." Elias has played in the middle for most of the last two seasons, so it won't be much of an adjustment. He will be flanked by Tyler Kennedy and Kyle Palmieri.

Elias has one goal and three assists in seven games played this season. He got a late start to the year because of a knee injury. Our models project him to rack up 21 points -- seven goals and 14 assists -- over the remainder of the season.
