Rangers' Derick Brassard erupts for a career-high five points

New York Rangers forward Derick Brassard notched a career-high five points to lead New York to a 6-3 triumph over the visiting Buffalo Sabres Monday night.

What It Means:

Brassard scored two goals and added three assists. His previous career high was four points in a 6-1 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins on April 3, 2013, his first game with the Rangers following a trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets. Brassard had an unforgettable night, with a plus/minus of plus-3 and a game-high six shots on net. The Rangers' other goal scorers Monday were Mats Zuccarello (18th), J.T. Miller (13th), Viktor Stalberg (seventh) and Dylan McIlrath (second). Jesper Fast contributed two assists.

Brassard now has 17 goals and 19 assists on the season. We project him to record 25 points -- 10 goals and 15 assists -- the rest of the way. His 48.7 Corsi For Percentage is his worst mark in the past three seasons while his 2.1 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength is well above his career average (2.1).
