NHL suspends Toronto's Leo Komarov for three games

Toronto Maple Leafs winger Leo Komarov has been suspended by the NHL for three games for his high hit on New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh.

What It Means:

The hit happened during Thursday's contest. Komarov is playing in his third NHL season, and this is his first offense. Komarov will be eligible to return on February 27 against the Montreal Canadiens.

Komarov has 35 points (18 goals, 17 assists) in 56 games played -- already a career high -- and has decent possession numbers. His Corsi For Percentage is 53.6, and his Relative Corsi For at Even Strength is 2.6. We project him to tally another 14 points (six goals, eight assists) over the remaining course of the season.
