Troy Brouwer remains interested in re-signing with Blues

Soon-to-be free agent winger Troy Brouwer reiterated that he's interested in re-signing with the St. Louis Blues.

What It Means:

"I don't know what exactly what the cap situation is," Brouwer said. "I know it's a business and I know they have young guys coming up for contracts in a year or two. You can't just look at this season. You have to look forward to what their cap situations are going to be in years to come but it's definitely a team and a city, a franchise I would love to come back if the opportunity makes itself available." Brouwer is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent after completing his three-year, $11 million deal. He also seems open to playing for his hometown Vancouver Canucks.

Brouwer tallied 39 points (18 goals, 21 assists) in 82 games played during the regular season and was poor at driving possession. His Corsi For Percentage was 48.7 and his Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength was -5.4. Brouwer was solid in the playoffs, totaling 13 points (eight goals, five assists) in 20 games.
