Kris Russell playing the free agent waiting game
Defenseman Kris Russell is playing the waiting game as an unrestricted free agent.
Russell is waiting for clubs to try and clear salary cap space before he decides where to play. He's reportedly hoping to land a contract worth north of $4 million per season. Russell tallied 19 points (4 goals, 15 assists) in 62 games last season with the Calgary Flames and Dallas Stars.
Russell's possession stats during the 2015-16 season left much to be desired, as his Corsi For Percentage was just 45.0 and his Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength was -4.7. Both stats were below his career averages.
