Jimmy Howard starting at home for the Red Wings on Thursday
Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard will start Thursday's season-opener at home against the Minnesota Wild.
Howard was behind Petr Mrazek on the depth chart last season, making 24 starts and posting a solid 2.10 goals against average and .927 save percentage. Howard looks in line to be the team's top goalie this year, though Mrazek should still see a fair number of starts.
numberFire's models project Howard for 18.4 FanDuel points on 27.5 saves, 2.3 goals against and a 43.0% chance of scoring a win. He is priced at $7,800 today.
