Jason Garrison scores first 3-on-3 overtime goal in Lightning win

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Jason Garrison scored the inaugural 3-on-3 overtime winning goal, his second of the game, as the Lightning roared to a 3-2 win over Philadelphia Flyers in their opener on Thursday night.

What It Means:

Garrison was strung on an odd breakaway off a transition from Tampa Bay's own zone, and he made no mistake with a wrister that went past Flyers' goalie Steve Mason.

The light-scoring defenseman is already halfway towards his goal total from last year, when he scored four in 70 contests. He's netted 19 goals combined over the past three seasons.
