4 FanDuel Premier League Studs to Target for Matchweek 7

Tammy Abraham is off to a flying start, and the Blues host Brighton this week, giving him big-time upside. Who else should you build around for Saturday's main slate?

As is the case when playing any sport on FanDuel, it’s imperative to hit on high-priced studs, the players in which you’ve made the biggest investment. This is especially true with forwards in soccer. Not only are the top-end forwards expensive, they are the ones most likely to put the ball in the back of the net, and goals are often the difference between winning and losing in DFS.

This article will cover FanDuel's main slate, which begins Saturday at 10:00 a.m. EST and features seven matches.

Matchweek 7
Saturday, September 28th
Watford at Wolves
Brighton at Chelsea
Southampton at Tottenham
West Ham at Bournemouth
Norwich City at Crystal Palace
Burnley at Aston Villa
Manchester City at Everton

Once again, Manchester City are the slate's biggest favorite, per Soccer odd, as they are at -350 to win on the road against Everton, which implies win odd of 77.8%. After them, however, we have some pretty enticing options, with Spurs (-260, 72.2% implied win odds), Chelsea (-240, 70.6%), Wolves (-115, 52.5%) and Palace (-105, 51.2%) all favored. This is probably the slate with the most appealing high-priced options we've had this season, and it's going to give us a plethora of routes to take when building our lineups.

Let’s take a look at some high-priced players -- all across the pitch -- who, despite costing a good chunk of change, are worth the investment.

Harry Kane, FWD, Tottenham

FanDuel Salary: $24

Last time Spurs were a big home favorite, those who faded Kane and plugged in other Tottenham players profited in a big way as Son Heung-min (50.6 FanDuel points) and Erik Lamela (26.9) had good outings versus Crystal Palace while Kane (12.6) underwhelmed. That could cause some people to handle Spurs the same way this weekend, but this is such a good situation for Kane as Spurs host Southampton.

Despite a "slow" start to the 2019-20 campaign, Kane has totaled four goals and an assist so far, and he's scored at least 30.0 FanDuel points in three of six outings. He's taking 3.3 shots per game and will handle penalties.

The Saints have allowed the seventh-most goals (nine) in the league this season, and the most likely scoreline, per FanDuel Sportsbook, is a 2-0 Tottenham win.

Wilfried Zaha, FWD, Crystal Palace

FanDuel Salary: $15

Zaha has been pretty quiet to start the year, but with Palace a slight home favorite (-105) versus Norwich, he could blow-up here.

Norwich have been a treat to watch in their first season back in the top flight, and their matches have been fantasy-friendly affairs as the Canaries have netted the seventh-most goals (nine) while conceding the second-most (14). Their open style means there should be goals in this game.

Zaha hasn't made the net bulge yet this year nor has he dished out an assist, but he's still causing defenses problems, drawing 13 fouls over his last two matches. He finished last year with 10 goals and five assists in EPL play, and he tallied goal totals of nine and seven the two seasons prior. He's a proven playmaker who could pop with the Eagles a home favorite.

Sergio Agüero, FWD, Manchester City

FanDuel Salary: $23

If it feels like Agüero is in this piece every week, that's because he's in this piece every week. Despite a tough road matchup at Everton, one of the tougher places for the big boys to play, City are a slate-best -350 favorite this week.

Agüero gives us an insane floor/ceiling combination, posting FanDuel totals of 20.0, 23.0, 51.6, 56.9, 28.0 and 38.6 so far this season in domestic play. He's scored in all six appearances in EPL action, totaling eight goals and two assists in all. He's also been credited with creating 10 chances and will take any penalties City get while he's on the pitch.

There are very few times this season when the Argentine isn't going to be in a smash spot -- at Liverpool and that might be it -- so keep plugging him in.

Tammy Abraham, FWD, Chelsea

FanDuel Salary: $20

Abraham is getting his chance at Chelsea, and he's taking full advantage, scoring seven goals through six matches. He's displayed a massive ceiling, with three spike outings of 63.9, 43.0 and 58.3 FanDuel points. However, all seven of his goals have come in those games, so the floor is scary (games of 3.9, 3.0 and 7.6 FanDuel points in his non-goal matches).

At home against Brighton in Matchweek 7, Abraham could go off again with the Blues a -240 favorite, third-largest on the slate.

Chelsea have been a surprisingly fantasy-friendly squad this year -- for both the Blues and their foes. Frank Lampard's squad has scored the third-most goals (12) while also shipping the third-most (13). Abraham leads the side in shots per game (3.0), and two of the three most likely outcomes, per FanDuel Sportsbook, have Chelsea scoring two goals.
