4 FanDuel Premier League Studs to Target for Matchweek 11

As is the case when playing any sport on FanDuel, it’s imperative to hit on high-priced studs, the players in which you’ve made the biggest investment. This is especially true with forwards in soccer. Not only are the top-end forwards expensive, they are the ones most likely to put the ball in the back of the net, and goals are often the difference between winning and losing in DFS.

This article will cover FanDuel's main slate, which begins Saturday at 11:00 a.m. EST and features seven matches.

I bet you can guess who this slate's biggest favorite is. Yes, it's Manchester City. As laughable -1150 favorites -- per Soccer odd -- at home versus Southampton, City sport overwhelming implied win odds of 92%. Liverpool (-300, 75% implied win odds) are the next biggest favorite, followed by Chelsea (-155, 60.8%), Brighton (-140, 58.3%), Arsenal (-135, 57.4%) and West Ham (-115, 53.5%).

Let’s take a look at some high-priced players -- all across the pitch -- who, despite costing a good chunk of change, are worth the investment.

Kevin De Bruyne, MID, Manchester City

FanDuel Salary: $22

For me, the first thing you have to do when you sit down to build lineups this week is figure out how you want to handle Manchester City. As -1150 favorites, they're fully expected to thrash Southampton at the Etihad, and even though they'll be chalk, City could put four or five past the Saints (a 4-0 win is only +800), so you have to get exposure to them.

City offer a slew of enticing high-priced options, and depending on how they set up, you can go any number of ways here. De Bruyne needs to be near the top of the wishlist in a match in which City should dominate possession, setting him up to whip in several of his trademark crosses.

KDB already has nine assists this year to go along with two goals. He handles some corner duties and is averaging four key passes per match. He's amassed at least two chances created in every EPL appearance, including one as a sub, and at home versus Watford a few weeks ago, a similar spot to this one, he created eight chances in a one-goal, two-assist performance on his way to 59.3 FanDuel points.

Fortunately, City play in the 11 a.m. EST matches, so we'll know their lineup before the initial lock. Take a peek and go from there. For the sake of variety, I won't mention any other City players here, but any attacker in their starting lineup is going to be very appealing this weekend.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, DEF, Liverpool

FanDuel Salary: $16

In terms of bang for your buck, Alexander-Arnold is one of the best DFS plays out there.

Nominally a right-back, TAA is pretty much a winger or wing-back for the Reds. But FanDuel rarely prices up any defender more than the mid-teens, so by rostering him, you're getting a modestly priced attacker on one of the world's top sides. He's averaging 3.7 key passes per match, not far from the clip of De Bruyne (4.0), unquestionably one of the best forward-passing creative players in the game.

Alexander-Arnold spends a ton of time in the attacking half for the high-powered Reds, who rely on his (and Andy Robertson's) crosses to help compensate for a lack of creativity in midfield, and he also handles some free-kicks and corners, a rarity for a defender. Oh, and he's usually got solid clean-sheet odds thanks to Liverpool's stout defense.

Liverpool are -300 favorites at Aston Villa, and the Reds should see plenty of the ball, giving Alexander-Arnold a chance to roam forward. He's got outputs of 19.3, 29.3 and 32.5 FanDuel points across his last four matches despite not tallying a goal or assist in that span. The kid is a monster, and he's a top defender play nearly every week.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, FWD, Arsenal

FanDuel Salary: $20

Aubameyang is in a bit of a funk, failing to score in three straight matches while putting just one shot on target in that span. That could cause him to come in at lower-than-usual ownership on a slate with Liverpool and Manchester City on it, and he's in a good spot at home versus Wolves.

Before his recent cold spell, Auba had netted a goal in seven of his eight starts across all competitions. Across his first seven EPL appearances of the year, he dropped below 25.0 FanDuel points just once, and he's accounted for 47% of Arsenal's goals this season, the second-highest clip in the league.

Wolves have rebounded after a poor opening stretch, but they've been a mixed bag all year. While they won 2-0 at Man City, they've also conceded three at Everton and five at home to Chelsea. Auba could pop in this spot, and if he does, he could be a slate-winning play since he's unlikely to see the same level of ownership as the stars on City and Liverpool.

Tammy Abraham, FWD, Chelsea

FanDuel Salary: $20

Targeting attackers against Watford has been a good idea this season, and the in-form Blues are -155 road favorites versus the Hornets.

Watford have allowed 21 goals in 10 league matches, including eight in five home fixtures. Chelsea, meanwhile, have been really good in their first campaign under Frank Lampard, averaging the third-most shots on target per match (6.5).

Since a hat trick back on September 14th, Abraham has just one goal in five outings, but he's put nine shots on target in that span, so the goals should be coming. Like Auba above, Abraham could go overlooked a tad if the masses load up on the high-priced players on Manchester City and Liverpool, making him a potential GPP game-changer if he hits.
