Champions League Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 11/6/19

Kylian Mbappé is in a smash spot at home versus Club Brugge. Which other players are worth using on Wednesday?

The Champions League, the best soccer competition on the planet, is back, and FanDuel is offering plenty of contests for all of Wednesday's matches, including the two early fixtures. This article will focus on just the main slate, which starts at 3 p.m. EST.

Group Stage
Wednesday, November 6th
Manchester City at Atalanta
Club Brugge at PSG
Shakhtar Donetsk at Dinamo Zagreb
Galatasaray at Real Madrid
Atletico Madrid at Bayer Leverkusen
Tottenham at Red Star Belgrade

Per EPL odds, PSG (-650) are the slate's biggest favorites, with Real Madrid (-550) not far behind. After those two, Premier League sides Manchester City (-200) and Tottenham (-145), both on the road, are the next biggest favorites.

Here are some players to target at various price points.

Forwards/Midfielders

Kylian Mbappé ($21) -- PSG are a slate-best -650 favorite as they host Club Brugge. In the reverse fixture two weeks ago, Mbappé came off the bench and played just 38 minutes. In that time, he netted a hat trick and recorded an assist in a stunning display. In Ligue 1 play, he's made five starts and has tallied a team-best five goals with three assists. The only downside here is that he'll likely be super popular, and he doesn't take penalties. Sans Neymar, Mbappé's upside is immense, though, in a match in which PSG should cruise.

Ángel Di María ($18) -- Speaking of PSG and penalties, Di María has taken one of their two spot kicks this season, with Edinson Cavani taking the other. We'll have to see what starting XI PSG roll out, since they likely don't need their top squad to get all three points here, but if Di María starts, he's awfully appealing. The dude is in immaculate form this year, totaling six goals and eight assists across all competitions. He's got 47.3, 25.3 and 44.9 FanDuel points in three UCL matches this campaign, and he racked up three assists (and five chances created) in the first matchup with Club Brugge.

Karim Benzema ($18) -- With Real Madrid a -550 home favorite versus Galatasaray, Benzema has to be on our radar. He's got seven goals and three assists in 10 La Liga starts this season, and he put up 32.9 points without a goal in the match at Galatasaray thanks to five chances created and three shots on target. With just four points through three rounds, Real Madrid need to win this one, so they should have their foot on the gas all match.

Kevin De Bruyne ($20) -- Assuming the masses flock to Real Madrid and PSG, Manchester City could be a great GPP stacking option. While they aren't massive favorites, they're still listed at -200 on the road versus Atalanta, a side that's conceded 11 goals through three UCL matches. De Bruyne has been in top-class form all year, and he offers a really nice floor each time out. In EPL action, he's recorded three goals and eight assists in nine starts. His clip of 1.26 goals plus assists per nine minutes is a career-best mark by a good margin. In a match City should win, KDB is a great pivot play off the high-priced studs mentioned above.

Defenders

Sergio Ramos ($13) -- Ramos is one of the few defenders in the world who takes some penalties. He's cashed in one this year and made five from the spot a year ago. That gives him a huge boost in DFS. He's also a monster in the air on set pieces, and in a home date with Galatasaray, he's got solid clean-sheet odds, too. So, yeah, Ramos checks some boxes this week.

Eduard Sobol ($8) -- Paying down at defender and going with a stars-and-scrubs approach to roster construction is an enticing strategy on this slate. Sobol should be a part of Club Brugge's back line, and anyone who starts at defender for them on Wednesday should provide a high floor as they'll likely be under siege all match. Sobol is expected to start as part of a back-three, which will probably morph into a five-man back line for much of the night.

Mariano ($9) -- Another defender with a high floor, Mariano should be in the lineup for Galatasaray. He's scored 7.8, 10.4 and 10.3 FanDuel points through three UCL matches this campaign, and his floor should be a bit higher than that on the road versus Real Madrid in a match Galatasaray likely won't see much of the ball.

Goalies

Keylor Navas ($14) -- Navas has the best win odds on the slate, and his clean-sheet chances are good, too. If you pay up at forward/midfield, it may be hard to find the cash for Navas, but he can put up 17.0 FanDuel points with a clean-sheet win, and that's without factoring in any saves. He's done just that -- score 17.0 FanDuel points, all from a clean-sheet win -- in two of his three group stage matches, including the first clash with Club Brugge.

Lukás Hrádecky ($10) -- Hrádecky is up against Atlético Madrid, and as good as Atléti are, they're not firing on all cylinders in attack. They've got just 12 goals in 12 La Liga matches, and they've netted more than one goal just once in their past six outings across all competitions. Looking at the name value of these two teams may lead one to assume Atléti is a big favorite, but they're just +155 to win, with Leverkusen's win odds at +190. Hrádecky is a GPP-only play, but he shouldn't see much ownership and could produce a solid output in this spot.
