FanDuel Premier League Trends to Know for Matchweek 13

Wolverhampton have found a much more balanced game since the opening weeks of the Premier League and look to keep a mini hot stream going. Their play is one trend worth watching in Matchweek 13.

The next Premier League main slate hits FanDuel at 10:00 a.m. EST on Saturday and features seven matches. That is tied for the largest slate of the season and comes after an international break. The main slate features many of the top teams in the table with the final game of the day in Manchester as the headliner.

Matchweek 13
Saturday, November 23
Wolverhampton at Bournemouth
Southampton at Arsenal
Leicester at Brighton
Liverpool at Crystal Palace
Norwich at Everton
Burnley at Watford
Chelsea at Manchester City

Let's look at the teams and players that are rising and falling this week.

Hot

Team: Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton are not playing as convincingly as Chelsea, but they have moved from the relegation zone to eighth in a matter of weeks. They have taken at least a point from seven straight matches. They have not allowed more than one goal in that stretch, and two games have ended in a clean sheet for Wolves. The top-priced Wolves player is Raul Jimenez ($17), who has scored at least 33 points in the past two matches. Joao Moutinho ($14) has scored no less than 18 points in each of the last three games. Willy Boly will be out for several months after surgery, which is a bit concerning for the Wolves back line, but they have found a balance that is working. Wolves face a Bournemouth team that have scored just two goals in the last five matches. The team is playing well and the players are not high priced.

Player: James Ward-Prowse, Southampton ($16)

It is hard to say that any player from Southampton is on a hot streak given the overall team struggles. Ward-Prowse has been doing his best to bring up the team performance, though, drawing two fouls in three straight games. In Matchweeks 4 and 5, he scored a combined 15.5 points, but he's now averaged 21.9 FanDuel points over the past seven games. Last match was the first in eight in which Ward-Prowse did not have at least one tackle. He did tally three defensive actions last time out, as well as adding two chances created. Ward-Prowse is often over set pieces for Southampton, which pushes his points ceiling higher. Arsenal are a tough team that will likely control the ball, but Ward-Prowse had a season-high seven clearances against Manchester City in Matchweek 11.

Cold

Team: Crystal Palace

Palace have lost three of four, failing to score a goal in any of those losses. Luka Milivojevic ($15) has the highest FanDuel average on the team, but he has scored a total of 15.1 points in the past two matches, both 2-0 defeats. His 16.43-point average is bested by six Liverpool players. In their last match, Palace failed to hold 40% possession, had just one shot on target, and committed 17 fouls. The previous match against Leicester was more evenly matched, but Palace were still outpaced in nearly every category and had 44% possession. Palace have scored just 10 goals, which is second-worst in the league. This is the end of a very tough stretch against some of the league's best teams, but unfortunately the league leaders await on Saturday.

Player: Emerson, Chelsea ($10)

Emerson got his place back in the squad after an injury but has failed to reproduce his numbers from earlier in the season. He does average over 14 points a game, but that is buoyed by two games of over 25 points in the first three weeks of the season. Emerson failed to score against Liverpool, and his high game since Matchweek 3 is 11.9 points. He has struggled with injuries this season and only appeared in seven matches. He has started the last two league games but recorded a yellow card last time out. Emerson also played the full match for Italy in Euro qualifying last week. He played well in the match against Bosnia but had just four defensive actions. Manchester City will be a great test for the young Chelsea side, but form says Emerson may not be ready.
