DraftKings Daily Fantasy Soccer Helper for Matchweek 13
The Premier League returns for Matchweek 13 after the international break. There is a big slate of six games, starting at 10:00 a.m. EST, on DraftKings. Taking a look at the odds on Soccer odd, Everton are the biggest favorites, followed closely by Liverpool and Arsenal.
So how should we approach this slate?
Forwards to Target
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ($9,700): Arsenal face Southampton at home and could use this game as a get-right spot after having failed to win their previous four league matches. Southampton have allowed the most goals in the league with 29, though nine of them came in one match. Aubameyang has been in decent form this season, scoring eight goals in 12 league matches. He is a -180 favorite to score at anytime in this game, being Arsenal's biggest goal threat. Aubameyang also has 35 crosses this season, something pretty rare for a player who scores as often as he does from the forward position. This gives him a good floor for cash games, and his goal-scoring ability gives him nice upside for tournaments.
Raúl Jiménez ($7,700): Jiménez has been in good form of late, scoring three goals in his last four matches. He has been getting lots of opportunities to score, with 13 shots in his last two games. Wolves are taking on Bournemouth in a game that is basically pick'em on the betting line. Bournemouth have allowed the fourth most shots per game in the league, according to WhoScored.com.
Dwight McNeil ($6,800): McNeil is the go-to mid-range forward who we can rely on for floor purposes. He had a good game last time out against West Ham, with 12 crosses and an assist. He is fifth in the Premier League in crosses with 77. He should be able to get some crosses in against relegation candidate Watford.
Midfielders to Target
James Maddison ($10,200): Maddison has one of the highest floors on a weekly basis in Premier League DFS on DraftKings. He has double-digit fantasy points in every game, peaking last match against Arsenal with 27.6. He is second in the league in corners taken and fourth in crosses. Leicester City have been firing on all cylinders recently, and that should continue against Brighton this week. Maddison is the top option at midfield on this slate.
João Moutinho ($6,100): Moutinho has rejoined the conversation of players to consider in recent weeks. He has taken all of Wolves' corner kicks in the past three league games and recorded an assist in the previous two. He is a solid value play with a good floor that we can roster in cash games.
Ashley Westwood ($4,700): Another cheap midfielder we can look toward for a floor is Westwood. He's been Burnley's main corner taker and has produced 20 crosses in the last four matches. He gives a bit of salary relief to get in more expensive players.
Defenders to Target
Lucas Digne ($7,400): Digne is always a player to consider with the high floor he has every week. He is second in the entire league in crosses with 113. Everton face Norwich at home, and the Canaries have allowed the third most crosses per game in the league. Norwich have also allowed the second most goals in the league with 28. Digne is the top option for Everton, who should be able to score some goals in this matchup.
Trent Alexander-Arnold ($7,100): The only player who has more crosses in the Premier League than Digne is Trent Alexander-Arnold with 135. His 42 shot assists are the most on this slate and dwarf James Maddison's total of 24. A price of $7,100 is arguably a value for someone with Trent's production, as he averages the second most fantasy points per game but is cheaper than several players on the slate. Liverpool have conceded just 10 goals this season, and Crystal Palace have scored only 10, the second fewest. Alexander-Arnold could easily get the clean sheet bonus. Fitting in Digne and Alexander-Arnold is a viable strategy given how strong of plays they are this week.
Ryan Bertrand ($4,100): Bertrand returns from his suspension and should start on the left for Southampton. He is a cheap defender option who will cross and has received some corner kick duties in the past. Southampton are big underdogs against Arsenal, but the Gunners have allowed the seventh most crosses in the league. Bertrand is a play to save some salary at defense if trying to spend elsewhere in your lineups.
Goalkeepers to Target
Alisson ($5,900): Playing the goalie from the best team in the league against a low-scoring side definitely makes sense. Alisson has only conceded four goals in the five league matches he's played this season. Liverpool are the most likely team on the slate to keep a clean sheet, according to the betting lines.
Nick Pope ($4,500): Pope fits the "play goalies against Watford" criteria this week. The Hornets have the fewest goals in the league with just eight but rank in the top 10 in shots per game. This should give Pope save chances, helping his fantasy point total even if he allows a goal or two. He's unlikely to sink your lineups in this matchup, which is really all you can ask for in a mid-priced goalkeeper.
