4 FanDuel Premier League Studs to Target for Matchweek 15

James Maddison should generate gobs of chances in a home matchup with Watford. Which other high-priced players are worth paying up for?

As is the case when playing any sport on FanDuel, it’s imperative to hit on high-priced studs, the players in which you’ve made the biggest investment. This is especially true with forwards in soccer. Not only are the top-end forwards expensive, they are the ones most likely to put the ball in the back of the net, and goals are often the difference between winning and losing in DFS.

This article will discuss FanDuel's main Wednesday slate, which starts at 2:30 p.m. EST and features six matches.

Matchweek 15
Wednesday, December 4th
Tottenham at Manchester United
Watford at Leicester City
West Ham at Wolves
Aston Villa at Chelsea
Norwich at Southampton
Everton at Liverpool

Per Soccer odd, Chelsea (-360) are the slate's biggest favorite while Leicester City (-300), Liverpool (-280), Wolves (-135) and Southampton (-130) are also fairly healthy favorites. With so many sides in good spots, we have a lot of paths we can take when building our lineups.

James Maddison, MID, Leicester City

FanDuel Price: $17

Leicester (-300) are big home favorites against Watford, a side that's looking destined to suffer the drop. Watford have allowed 28 goals in 14 matches, including 15 in seven away games. They average just 44.5% possession away from home while Leicester's home possession clip is 57.3%.

Everything points to the Foxes dominating this one, and that gives Maddison a great floor.

The star midfielder has put up 19.24 FanDuel points per game this season and leads his side in key passes per game, at 2.2. Maddison has four goals and two assists in 13 EPL appearances and has created a whopping 16 chances across his last four outings.

His free-kick and corner duties raise both his floor and ceiling, and with Leicester rolling -- they have at least two goals in each of their past seven matches in all competitions -- Maddison is one of the premier plays on this slate.

Roberto Firmino, FWD, Liverpool

FanDuel Price: $18

Liverpool are at home against a side fighting relegation, so we should be stacking the Reds -- right? Well, not so fast.

While Everton have been hot trash this season, they've played Liverpool extremely tough in recent years. In the last five meetings between these Merseyside rivals, Liverpool have netted more than a single goal only once. Last season, Liverpool scored just one goal across two league matches with Everton, and that goal was basically a complete fluke. Oddsmakers seem to be taking this into account as the Reds are only -280 home favorites here, which puts them third on the slate.

With all that said, it shouldn't surprise anyone if Liverpool hang three or four on the Toffees on Wednesday. If they do, Firmino will likely play a vital role in a match in which Everton figure to pack it in defensively, meaning the Reds will need Firmino's creativity in the middle of the park.

Amazingly, Firmino has scored just one goal since September 22nd, but he's got five shots on goal over his last three appearances and is due for a big game. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Brazilian is +110 to score a goal in this one, and he's likely to see less ownership than his forward partners.

Christian Pulisic, MID, Chelsea

FanDuel Price: $15

Chelsea are -360 favorites, tops on the slate, for their home date with Aston Villa. So while we definitely want some exposure to the Blues, they don't necessarily have a go-to player we can zero in on.

Pulisic is as good of a bet as anyone, assuming Tammy Abraham (hip) sits again. After scoring five goals in a three-game span about a month ago, Pulisic has gone dry in EPL play, but he found the net in a Champions League matchup at Valencia and seems to have locked down a spot in the starting XI.

He's created nine total chances over his last five EPL matches, and even though he's been very goal-reliant in DFS, that's something we can stomach when the goals come, which they might versus Villa. Aston Villa have kept a clean sheet just once in their past nine league matches, and that came versus Newcastle. In that span, Villa have faced Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool and allowed at least two goals to each of those big-six sides.

Chelsea are expected to roll over Villa, and this could be another blow-up spot for Pulisic. If you don't want to use the American, Chelsea should be a nice spot for value, especially at striker if Abraham is out.

Raúl Jiménez, FWD, Wolves

FanDuel Price: $18

With Leicester, Chelsea and Liverpool on this slate and in good spots, Wolves could go overlooked despite being a -135 home favorite versus West Ham. Jiménez has been in dazzling form of late and could be a slate-winning play if he keeps it up.

Over his last four games, Jiménez has posted FanDuel outputs of 21.9, 43.6, 33.3 and 45.8 points. The 21.9-point effort was the lone game in that span in which he didn't make the net bulge, but he did record an assist in that outing. He's been credited with nine chances created in that four-game run. He's got six goals and two assists on the season, with two of his goals coming from the spot, a role which boosts his DFS outlook.

West Ham had been struggling mightily before winning at Chelsea last weekend, giving up two goals to Everton, three to Spurs, three to Burnley and three to Newcastle in recent matches. Loading up on Wolves is an enticing option in GPPs, but even if you're looking for only a one-off play, Jiménez should be on your radar.
