4 FanDuel Premier League Studs to Target for Matchweek 16

Trent Alexander-Arnold is a cheat code at defender right now, and with Liverpool once again a big favorite, he's a guy we can build around.

As is the case when playing any sport on FanDuel, it’s imperative to hit on high-priced studs, the players in which you’ve made the biggest investment. This is especially true with forwards in soccer. Not only are the top-end forwards expensive, they are the ones most likely to put the ball in the back of the net, and goals are often the difference between winning and losing in DFS.

This article will discuss FanDuel's main Wednesday slate, which starts at 10:00 a.m. EST and features four matches.

Matchweek 16
Saturday, December 7th
Burnley at Tottenham
Crystal Palace at Watford
Liverpool at Bournemouth
Manchester United at Manchester City

Three of the four matches have a big favorite, per Soccer odd. Manchester City leads the way as a -350 home favorite in the Manchester Derby. Liverpool and Tottenham are both -250 favorites while Watford (+135) are a slight home favorite.

Let's take a look at four studs you can build around.

Harry Kane, FWD, Spurs

FanDuel Price: $21

Dele Alli is making all the headlines since José Mourinho took over at Tottenham and rightfully so as Alli has dazzled under his new boss. But don't sleep on Kane, especially in a home date with Burnley.

Kane paces Spurs with seven goals and has added an assist. In his four games prior to the midweek loss at Manchester United, Kane had accounted for five chances created and four shots on goal, slotting home two of them.

He has a monopoly on penalties, and Tottenham are healthy -250 home favorites versus the Clarets, a side that's given up four goals to Manchester City, two to Crystal Palace, three to Sheffield United and four to Chelsea in recent weeks.

Raheem Sterling, FWD, Manchester City

FanDuel Price: $19

With Manchester United coming off a nice performance Wednesday versus Spurs, oddsmakers have gone ahead and installed them as massive underdogs at Manchester City, giving Pep Guardiola's bunch a -350 line.

Whew.

City, as always, offer a plethora of attacking options, even with Sergio Agüero out. While Sterling has just one goal over his last five EPL matches, he's still been bright in that time, putting four shots on goal and creating five chances. He's got eight goals and one assist in league play this campaign, but he's unlucky not to have more assists as his expected assists tally is four.

Manchester City should overpower the Red Devils, and Sterling is a great way to get exposure to this slate's biggest favorite.

Mohamed Salah, MID, Liverpool

FanDuel Price: $18

After getting rested midweek, Salah should be ready to roll at Bournemouth. Salah also rested at Crystal Palace recently, so he should play the full 90 Saturday unless there's an injury issue we don't know about.

The Reds just blow-torched Everton 5-2 while playing short-handed, and they are -250 favorites away to the Cherries. This won't be a super easy matchup for Liverpool, but it's tough to bet against Jürgen Klopp's side right now.

Salah has six goals and three assists in 12 EPL starts. He leads the team in expected goals (6.6) and shots per game (3.5). He's also two-for-two from the spot and should be on penalties unless James Milner is on the pitch. If Milner starts, it does ding Salah's outlook, but the Egyptian is due for a big game, and it could come on Saturday.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, DEF, Liverpool

FanDuel Price: $15

If it seems like Trent is in this piece a lot, it's because he is.

The guy is breaking EPL DFS, and until FanDuel prices him into his own tier among defenders, we should keep plugging him in week after week.

Alexander-Arnold might be the best creative player on Liverpool as his cross-field passes and lasers into the box are the fuel that keeps the Reds' attack humming along. He is second among all players -- not just defenders -- in assists (six) and chances created (49) in the league. He also handles some corner and free-kick duties for Liverpool.

What Trent lacks in defensive contributions in DFS, he more than makes up for going forward. The right-back is a cheat code, and with Liverpool once again a big favorite, you should be going out of your way to make sure you have the money for him.
