4 FanDuel Premier League Value Plays to Target for Matchweek 25

Joelinton has had a nightmare season, but he's got a dream date with Norwich. Who else can you turn to for cheap production on this slate?

One of the crucial aspects of daily fantasy soccer is unearthing cheap production, allowing you to spend up for the high-end studs without sacrificing production elsewhere in your lineup.

A lot of times, the top value plays come as a result of injury situations, meaning it's imperative to check starting lineups an hour before kickoff.

Matchweek 25
Saturday, February 1st
Southampton at Liverpool
Norwich City at Newcastle United
Brighton at West Ham
Sheffield United at Crystal Palace
Aston Villa at Bournemouth
Everton at Watford
Wolves at Manchester United

When looking for a salary-saving option for this main slate, check out some of these players.

Takumi Minamino, FWD, Liverpool

FanDuel Price: $13

Liverpool are overwhelming -380 favorites, per FanDuel Sportsbook, at home versus Southampton, and with no other team better than even a +110 favorite, this slate revolves around the Reds. Figuring out how you want to handle them is the first thing you need to do when building.

It's not a lock Minamino starts -- he didn't midweek at West Ham -- but with Sadio Mané out and Divock Origi doing very little in Mané's place on Wednesday, Minamino might be in there on Saturday. The January signing had five goals and five assists in 11 starts (14 appearances) for Red Bull Salzburg this season before making the move to Merseyside.

Minamino hasn't made much of a contribution yet with the Reds, coming on as a sub in one match, replacing the injured Mané. FanDuel Sportsbook has him +135 to score anytime, however, and he makes a lot of sense as a value play if he's in the starting XI.

If Minamino isn't starting, you can turn to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ($14), Jordan Henderson ($13) or Gini Wijnaldum ($11) for cost-effective exposure to the Reds' midfield.

Robert Snodgrass, MID, West Ham

FanDuel Price: $13

Snodgrass was able to return from his injury to play the full match Wednesday against Liverpool, so he should be good to go for a crucial home fixture versus Brighton.

He was lively against the Reds, creating two chances and putting a shot on goal on his way to 11.0 FanDuel points. As is usually the case, he got a lot of his value from his set-piece duties, taking two of the Hammers' three corners in the match as well as serving as the team's main free-kick taker.

The matchup with Brighton is a solid one. West Ham are slight favorites (+155), and they desperately need all three points as they flirt with relegation. Brighton have conceded 21 goals in their 13 road fixtures, and they haven't kept a clean sheet away from home since September 21st, a span of nine road games. While West Ham are in poor form, Brighton just surrendered three goals to a Bournemouth side that was in a terrible funk.

Snodgrass should be able to create a few chances on Saturday, and he can be paired with Sébastien Haller ($16) if you're looking for a non-Liverpool team to stack.

Joelinton, FWD, Newcastle United

FanDuel Price: $13

Newcastle are in a sweet spot as they host Norwich, and the Magpies are +120 to win. On most slates, that wouldn't be too noteworthy; on this slate, Newcastle are the third-biggest favorite.

Joelinton's shooting boots got lost in the move to northeast England as he's registered a pitiful one goal and two assists in 23 EPL starts (24 appearances). He hasn't scored in the league since August 25th. That's not what Newcastle had in mind when they paid a club-record fee for him.

Norwich present the perfect chance for the Brazilian to find his footing as the Canaries have allowed a league-worst 47 goals in 24 matches. Newcastle are far from electric in attack, but they've been blanked only once in their last nine home EPL outings -- and that came against Leicester's stingy defense.

Joelinton is +195 to score in this match, the best odds on Newcastle.

Jan Bednarek, DEF, Southampton

FanDuel Price: $8

Bednarek is expected to be fully fit for the fixture at Liverpool after playing the full match versus Tottenham in the FA Cup, and he should be extremely busy in this one.

He's produced 23.2 (Spurs) and 18.0 (Chelsea) FanDuel points in his last two EPL matches against big-six sides, and he offers that type of floor Saturday in a match in which the Saints should be under siege against a team that's top three in the league in both possession and shots per game. For the year, Bednarek averages a team-best 5.5 clearances to go along with 2.1 interceptions, 2.0 tackles and 0.6 blocks shots per game. In the two aforementioned matches versus Spurs and Chelsea, he averaged 8.0 clearances, 2.5 interceptions and 1.5 tackles.

Bednarek is shaping up as one of the better point-per-dollar plays at the position. He fits well as part of a game stack if you're assuming Liverpool put Southampton to the sword and keep the Saints' backline busy, and his minimum salary can help you jam in the Reds' high-priced studs.
