DraftKings Daily Fantasy Soccer Helper for Bundesliga Matchday 29

Saturday has more Bundesliga action with four games on the main slate on DraftKings. This is similar to Wednesday's slate, as five of the eight teams were on that slate and once again we have none of the top five teams playing here. Let's look at the games and the betting odds, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook:

Home Draw Away
Hertha Berlin -115 +280 Augsburg +290
Wolfsburg -105 +270 Frankfurt +270
Mainz +175 +270 Hoffenheim +140
Schalke +145 +230 Werder Bremen +180

Forwards to Target

Matheus Cunha ($8,200): Cunha has been in great form since joining Hertha Berlin in January. He was on a four-game goal-scoring streak, until that ended on Wednesday against his former club RB Leipzig. Hertha have been one of the teams that seem to have benefited the most from the break, with two wins and a draw under new manager Bruno Labbadia. This is one reason why they are the biggest favorite on this slate.

Cunha hasn't just been a goal scorer, he has also scored points through some peripheral stats. He averages 4.81 shots and 3.81 fouls drawn per 90 minutes in his seven games with Hertha, according to Rotowire. His goal scoring plus these additional ways of scoring points make him one of the better forward plays on the slate.

Daniel Caligiuri ($7,400): Schalke desperately need a win, and the good news for them is that 17th placed Werder Bremen are coming to town. Werder have conceded the second-most goals in the league, and more importantly for Caligiuri's skill set, the most crosses per game according to WhoScored.com. Caligiuri's appeal is his corner kick taking, as his share of those has led to him getting 4.86 crosses per 90 minutes. He is another player that will add value through other ways, with tackles won, shots and chances created all contributing to a solid floor. Caligiuri's crossing and other floor points make him a target in cash games, but his low goal involvement totals make him less than ideal for tournaments.

Wout Weghorst ($6,900): It was surprising that Wolfsburg scored four goals on Tuesday and none were scored by their leading goal scorer, Wout Weghorst. Overall, his 11 goals are tied for the sixth-most in the league. He hasn't scored since the restart, but that could all change as Wolfsburg are favored to win for the first time since the league resumed. They face a Frankfurt team that haven't won in their last six games and have allowed the sixth-most goals in the Bundesliga. Weghorst is far from the most expensive forward on this slate, but his +105 anytime goal scoring odds are the best available. His price makes him a very enticing play for tournaments in hopes of bagging a goal or two.

Midfielders to Target

Filip Kostić ($10,600): Kostić lived up to the billing in the first main Bundesliga slate he] was a part of on Tuesday, with 19 crosses, five shots, five shot assists, and an assist. He's now up to 11.63 crosses per 90 minutes, to go along with over two shots and chances created per 90 as well. There isn't another player on this slate that could match that level of fantasy production without getting a goal or an assist. Add that to the four goals and nine assists that Kostić has in the league this season, and he has upside to go with his floor. Kostić will likely be the highest owned player on the slate, but you could seriously regret it if you decide not to play him.

Milot Rashica ($8,400): Rashica was a buy-low candidate before the last game and he was able to deliver. He had ten crosses and three shots which helped him reach 15 DraftKings points. He seemed to retake the role as the main set-piece taker, taking five of the nine that Werder Bremen had in that match. Now Werder face Schalke, who have been in dreadful form. They haven't won a league game in their last eleven attempts, and have lost all three games since the restart, allowing multiple goals in both. Despite Werder Bremen not being a great team themselves, they should be targeting this game as winnable to pull themselves out of relegation. If they are to do that, Rashica will be key as he has been their best player all season. His seven goals and his role on set pieces make him a viable play in all formats.

Vladimír Darida ($5,700): Darida is a value play at midfield for just $5,700. His value comes from his role on set pieces that we saw escalate when Marvin Plattenhardt left the last game early. Plattenhardt is not expected to play in this game either according to projected lineups on Bundesliga.com. Darida also chips in with a decent shot rate and defensive stats. His rejuvenated Hertha Berlin face Augsburg, the team with the worst possession rate in the league. This is a perfect spot for Darida to have a nice game, and he comes in at a price that isn't too restrictive at $5,700.

Dennis Geiger ($3,200): Geiger was in the projected lineup for the last match and ended up not starting. Again he is projected to start for Hoffenheim and is close to the minimum price for a midfielder. He has had a role on set pieces and if he were to actually start in this game, he would make for a fine punt play.

Defenders to Target

Bastian Oczipka ($6,200): Oczipka is one of few fantasy assets we can look to on Schalke, even if they are playing Werder Bremen. Oczipka was the lone bright spot in Schalke's loss to Fortuna Düsseldorf on Wednesday. He recorded nine crosses and an assist in that game. His role on set pieces gives him fantasy relevance in nearly every game. We know that Werder are the team that allows the most crosses, which is good for a wing back like Oczipka. Another thing that Werder are not good at is scoring goals, with their 29 being the fewest in the Bundesliga this season. This gives Oczipka a decent chance at a clean sheet and the three-point bonus that goes with it.

Almamy Touré ($5,500): Touré is an option on Frankfurt, who are the team that averages the most crosses per game in the league. He does his part to add to that average, with 24 crosses in his last four games. Three of those games were against top-five sides in the league, and while the matchup with Wolfsburg isn't the best, Touré has proven he can produce against tougher teams. He's a solid play who should be able to get his share of crosses in this match.

Marco Friedl ($4,600): Friedl has filled in as a left wing back for Werder Bremen and done an okay job of scoring fantasy points. He chipped in with a bit of everything last game, including three crosses, three of which came from corner kicks. If he were to start again, he's a good option at defender as it's hard to get access to a defender with set pieces for this price.

Goalkeepers to Target

Koen Casteels ($5,100): Casteels plays for the second-biggest favorite on the slate in Wolfsburg, and has been a consistent keeper this season. He has conceded 26 goals in 20 appearances, with four clean sheets. Frankfurt have been prolific in shooting, averaging the third-most shots per game, but only scoring the sixth-most goals. Last time out for Frankfurt, they got 16 shots on target and allowed Freiburg keeper Alexander Schwolow to get 20 DraftKings points while allowing three goals and not getting the win. That is an extreme example, but it should give Casteels some saves and a floor at a position where most players don't have one.

Jiří Pavlenka ($4,300): Pavlenka has been on a bit of a run of late, with two straight clean sheets. He'll go up against Schalke with their 11 games winless run and they have scored the fifth-fewest goals in the league. If wanting to pay down at the goalkeeper position, Pavlenka makes sense as an option to do so.
