FanDuel Soccer: EPL DFS Under-the-Radar Plays for 11/6/21

If you have played daily fantasy sports for a while, you know the importance of being contrarian in large-field tournaments. Recognizing which players are going to be popular and finding others who you think have a similar point projection but will be much less popular can separate you from your opponents.

The same goes for DFS EPL. Even though the large-field tournaments aren't quite as large as they are for other sports, there is still value in identifying quality under-the-radar plays.

This article will discuss FanDuel's main Saturday slate, which starts at 11:00 a.m. EST and features four matches.

Slate Overview

Wolves (+200) at Crystal Palace (+145)
Over 2.5 Goals: +132 | Most Likely to Score: Jimenez (+165)

Burnley (+1200) at Chelsea (-420)
Over 2.5 Goals: -144 | Most Likely to Score: Havertz (+115)

Norwich (+480) at Brentford (-165)
Over 2.5 Goals: +104 | Most Likely to Score: Toney (+100)

Newcastle (+470) at Brighton (-165)
Over 2.5 Goals: -108 | Most Likely to Score: Neal Maupay (+125)

Matchweek 11 features one big-six side, with Chelsea in action at home against Burnley. At -420 to win, Chelsea are the largest favorite on the slate, while Brentford's Ivan Toney ($18) has the best odds to score (-105) of any player expected to be active on Saturday.

Brentford and Brighton (-165 to win) are tied as the second-biggest favorites behind Chelsea. Crystal Palace (+145 to win) round out the slate at home against Wolves.

All eyes will be on Chelsea in this one and rightfully so. They come into Saturday on a four-match win streak, sitting top of the league, with 14 goals scored and just one goal conceded during that streak. Facing a Burnley side that has conceded five goals over their last three matches, it will be difficult to fade Chelsea on this smaller slate.

With that in mind, here are two players to consider on this slate -- especially for tournament formats -- who may fly under the radar.

Bryan Mbeumo, FWD/MID, Brentford

FanDuel Salary: $14

Ivan Toney will likely be the most popular non-Chelsea player on Saturday's slate, and he is in a great spot. He has double-digit FanDuel points in eight of his last nine matches and is facing a winless Norwich side that leads the league in goals conceded with 14 over their last six matches.

While all eyes are on Chelsea and Toney, Mbeumo is expected to return to the starting lineup after a one-game absence and should benefit from the same advantageous matchup. Mbeumo is goal-dependent for fantasy, but on a smaller slate, he has the chance to make a large impact at a modest $14 salary.

Despite scoring just twice in nine starts this season, Mbeumo has been active in the final third, totaling nine shots in his last three matches. He also has limited involvement on corner kicks, with one taken in each of his last three starts. Consider pairing him with midfield teammate Christian Norgaard ($13) to gain exposure to an excellent matchup against Norwich while pivoting off Toney's expected high draft percentage.

Michael Olise, FWD/MID, Crystal Palace

FanDuel Salary: $11

On paper, Palace is the least-favored home side on Saturday's slate, but there is reason for optimism given their recent performances. They are undefeated (four draws and one win) over their last five fixtures, including matches against Leicester City, Arsenal, and Manchester City. Wolves have been on fire lately, tallying four wins in their last five matches, but Palace is still capable of a positive performance in this one.

Olise has just one goal on the season but has been impressive in limited minutes over his last four matches. He has FanDuel point totals of 26.0, 11.3, 7.3, and 10.0 in that span despite playing just 128 total minutes across those four fixtures. He's not a lock to start, and if Jordan Ayew ($14) or Odsonne Edouard ($17) force him to the bench, either of them is worth considering, as well, in a similar environment.

If Olise does draw the start, he offers an excellent combination of potential production, a very low salary and a likely low draft percentage.
