The Baltimore Orioles are trying to play the role of spoiler down the stretch this season, and tonight, they have a prime opportunity against the Oakland Athletics. They will need outfielder Adam Jones to pick up his play if they want to take tonight's contest, though.
The Orioles face southpaw Brett Anderson, and Jones has really struggled against lefties in 2018. Covering 154 plate appearances, Jones has recorded a .114 isolated power (ISO), 2.6% walk rate, and .305 wOBA.
From a batted-ball perspective, Jones is hitting lefties for only a 32.1% hard-hit rate, so even though tonight's contest is in Camden Yards, which ranks seventh in home run factor this year, the Orioles' veteran outfielder doesn't seem like a great play.
