Brewers re-sign Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) to 2-year deal

The Milwaukee Brewers are expected to re-sign ace pitcher Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) to a two-year contract.

What It Means:

Woodruff's stint in free agency lasted a bit longer than expected, even with the injured ace being expected to miss most of the 2024 season after undergoing shoulder surgery last year. He could be worth stashing in fantasy leagues with multiple IL spots for a stretch run if he gets good news about his injury during the rehab process.

Woodruff missed most of the early part of the 2023 season with a back injury before the shoulder injury ended his campaign in September, but he had been enjoying high-end numbers when he was able to take the mound. While he only appeared in 11 games, he still threw for a 2.28 ERA with 9.9 K/9 and an .821 WHIP.
