Alvin Kamara's 0.42 Rushing NEP per Play Is Best Among Running Backs with 25+ Carries

The front-runner for rookie of the year, Alvin Kamara is averaging 7.0 yards per carry so far this season. He has only been held under 5.0 yards per carry three times, and two of those were the first two games of the year when he was behind both Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson on the depth chart. Kamara has been converting those runs too, with 7 touchdowns on the season, 6 of which came in the past six games. There isn't another player even close to his rushing efficiency, as the running back with the second-highest rushing NEP per play is Aaron Jones way down at -0.19.

Kamara has done well as a pass-catching back, as his 0.57 Reception NEP per target ranks ninth among all running backs with 10 or more targets this year. He has racked up eight more yards in the passing game (614) than he has on the ground (604), with 4 touchdowns as a receiving back.

Putting everything together, his 79.42 Total NEP is 32.91 points better than any other running back in 2017.

Even while splitting time with Mark Ingram, our models project Kamara to record the fifth-most FanDuel points of any running back in Week 14.
