Denver's 26.2 Points Allowed per Game Is the Second-Worst in the NFL

In the past two seasons, the Denver Broncos have allowed averages of 18.5 and 18.6 points per game, respectively. They won 12 and 9 games over those two seasons.

But this year has been a completely different story, as they are sitting at the bottom of the AFC West with a 3-9 record. With just a quarter of the season left to play, the Indianapolis Colts are the only team in the league allowing more points per game (27.5) than the struggling Broncos.

Just this past week, Denver gave up 35 points to the Miami Dolphins, who had averaged just 15.8 points over their previous 11 games.

It's clear that this defense is not what it used to be. And with the offense ranking dead last with -0.10 Adjusted NEP per play, they are left with a lot of holes to fill before next season.
