Matt Olson exits Athletics' loss with hand injury
Oakland Athletics first baseman Matt Olson left Thursday's 5-4 extra-innings loss to the Seattle Mariners in the Tokyo Dome with pain in his right hand.
Olson said he felt pain in his right hand after fouling off a pitch in the fifth inning and that it's making it difficult to grip a bat, so the Athletics may be without their Gold Glove first baseman for a while. He will be examined Friday. Mark Canha replaced Olson at first base.
Through two games, Olson is 1-for-5 with a walk drawn and a run scored.
