Kevin Kiermaier (thumb) lands on Rays' injured list
The Tampa Bay Rays placed outfielder Kevin Kiermaier on the 10-day injured list with a sprained left thumb.
The injury will not require surgery, so Kiermaier is hoping to return within a couple weeks. Guillermo Heredia was recalled from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding roster move.
KK is batting .248/.294/.425 with 10 home runs, 14 doubles, 43 RBI, and 43 runs scored through 338 plate appearances this season.
