Cubs put Willson Contreras (hamstring) on IL
The Chicago Cubs placed catcher Willson Contreras on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.
What It Means:
Contreras suffered the injury while leaving the batter's box Sunday. It's not clear how much time he's expected to miss. Victor Caratini figures to see most of the starts behind the plate in the meantime. The Cubs recalled catcher Taylor Davis from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding roster move.
Contreras is hitting .275/.365/.525 with 19 home runs and 57 RBI in 340 plate appearances (87 games).
