Mets' Jed Lowrie running 'gingerly' during base-running drill
New York Mets second baseman Jed Lowrie was spotted running gingerly with a brace in a base-running drill Sunday.
His appearance in the drill appears to conflict with Mets manager Luis Rojas' comments earlier about Lowrie being 'a full go.' While the other players ran the drill at near full-speed, Lowrie lightly jogged the distance. It's unclear how close to fully recovered he is from the knee injury that kept him out for most of the 2019 season.
We will hopefully know more about Lowrie's availability for the season in the coming weeks. As of this writing, numberFire projects Lowrie to bat 0.257, with 2 home runs, 9 runs and 10 RBI.
