Angels' Patrick Sandoval had coronavirus
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Patrick Sandoval revealed Monday that he was sidelined due to COVID-19.
Sandoval tested positive on June 22 after feeling symptoms over a couple of days. “It was unlike anything I’d ever really felt before," the 23-year-old left-hander said. He feels fine now and threw a bullpen session on Sunday, but Angels manager Joe Maddon said Monday that it would be "hard to imagine" Sandoval being ready by Opening Day.
numberFire's models expect Sandoval to record a 4.48 ERA and 1.45 WHIP with 24 strikeouts and 11 walks over 24 innings this season.
