George Springer sitting Monday for Toronto
The Toronto Blue Jays did not list George Springer as a starter for Monday's game against the Oakland Athletics.
What It Means:
Springer will move from designated hitter to the bench for Monday's game against the A's. Lourdes Gurriel will take over at DH, Teoscar Hernandez will fill his shoes in left field, Cavan Biggio will jump from third base to right field, and Joe Panik will come in to play third and bat seventh.
Springer has only made 18 plate appearances so far this season, but has already managed to hit 2 home runs (adding 3 RBI in the process). He's batting .200 so far and a has .894 OPS in his first season as a Blue Jay.
