Pirates put Phillip Evans (hamstring) on injured list

The Pittsburgh Pirates put infielder/outfielder Phillip Evans on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.

What It Means:

Evans suffered the injury while running the bases on Wednesday afternoon. The Pirates purchased the contract of first baseman Will Craig from Triple-A Indianapolis to replace Evans. Craig will man first and bat eighth on Thursday versus the San Francisco Giants in his season debut.

Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Pirates have the fourth-lowest implied total (3.7 runs) out of all the teams playing Thursday.
