Twins' Randy Dobnak recalled for Friday spot start

The Minnesota Twins recalled right-handed pitcher Randy Dobnak from Triple-A St. Paul.

What It Means:

Dobnak will make a spot start on Friday versus the Cleveland Indians to provide Kenta Maeda (groin) another day of rest. The 26-year-old right-hander was optioned down earlier this month after registering an 8.16 ERA with four homers allowed over 14 1/3 innings to start the season. However, he could potentially be a streaming option, as Dobnak recorded a 3.12 ERA over 75 innings in his first two years in the majors and will face an Indians team that has already been no-hit twice this season.

The Indians have the fifth-worst wOBA in the majors this season and the second-worst batting average (.213). Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, their implied total is 4.69 runs on Friday. Dobnak has a $2,400 salary on Friday's slate.
