Marlins' Pablo Lopez scratched Monday, start pushed to Tuesday
Miami Marlins pitcher Pablo Lopez has been scratched from his scheduled start on Monday against the Boston Red Sox.
Lopez will pitch on Tuesday at home versus the Colorado Rockies instead because the Marlins want to give the right-hander an extra day of rest. As a result, Lopez will now get to face an inferior Rockies' lineup at home, rather than the Red Sox in Fenway. The Marlins have yet to announce a replacement starter for Monday's matchup.
Lopez is averaging 31.0 FanDuel points per start this season with career-lows in ERA (2.82) and WHIP (1.15) over 67 innings. He may be slightly over-performing at this point in the year, as indicated by Lopez's FIP (3.41) and xERA (3.46).
