Phillip Evans placed on 7-day concussion IL for Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Phillip Evans has been placed on the 7-day concussion injured list on Tuesday.
What It Means:
Evans has suffered a concussion, and he'll be on the shelf for at least a week as a result. Gregory Polanco was placed on the 10-day IL as well, and it's unclear how long he'll be sidelined for. Cole Tucker and Rodolfo Castro have been recalled to fill the absences.
In 210 plate appearances this season, Evans has a .208 batting average with a .621 OPS, 5 home runs, 20 runs and 15 RBI.
