Keibert Ruiz making Nationals debut Monday
Washington Nationals catcher prospect Keibert Ruiz is making his Nationals debut in Monday's series opener against right-hander Zack Wheeler and the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Nationals called Ruiz up from Triple-A Rochester for the first time since acquiring him from the Los Angeles Dodgers at the trade deadline. Ruiz is catching Josiah Gray and batting sixth in Monday's opener. The Nationals optioned Tres Barrera down in a corresponding roster move.
