Astros' Jake Meyers absent from lineup Tuesday
Houston Astros outfielder Jake Meyers is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against right-hander Jordan Lyles and the Texas Rangers.
The Astros are holding Meyers out of the lineup for the second time in three games. Jose Siri is shifting to center field while Chas McCormick enters the lineup to bat seventh and start in left field.
numberFire’s models project McCormick for 11.5 FanDuel points and he has a $2,200 salary on Tuesday’s slate. Siri is projected for 10.2 FanDuel points with a $2,000 salary. McCormick and Siri are both top-eight point-per-dollar values among active hitters in our projections. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Astros have an implied total of 5.5 runs, which is the second-most in the majors on Tuesday. Lyles is registering an 18.4 strikeout percentage and a 7.4 walk percentage this season, with a 5.61 xERA and a .355 xwOBA, the latter two of which both rank in the bottom 9% of the league.
