Pirates place Tyler Heineman (groin) on 10-day IL
The Pittsburgh Pirates placed catcher Tyler Heineman (groin) on the 10-day injured list Thursday.
What It Means:
Heineman exited Wednesday's game against the Chicago Cubs with a groin issue and he will now be out for over a week. The Pirates promoted catcher Taylor Davis from Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding roster move. Jason Delay will catch for Zach Thompson and hit ninth in Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Brandon Woodruff and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Brewers have the second-lowest implied total (2.99) in the majors on Thursday.
